I highly recommend the color mists. Unfortunately I bought another brand first and it was too much water and not enough pigment. I then bought them from Outside The Margins. They were fabulous...lots of rich pigment for making fast fast fast and beautiful backgrounds.

Thank you for putting my sample art under the White Sailor pen. For anyone interested, it is fabulous!! My writing is over several layers of acrylic paint and sealer......it wrote over the texture like a champ! Never a skip or any place that I had to go over twice! Awesome!!!

The next time my DH and I are in Modesto to visit my aunt and uncle, I'll try to drive by your gorgeous Funky Farmhouse! (Purple and yellow are my favorite colors, too.)
I am a (still-)budding collage artist from Columbus, Ohio who has
become fascinated with the concept of Altered Books. (Why books? Why alter
them? Who started this? Why has it become so popular? Will this art form
be accepted as an art form rather than a craft technique a century
from now, and will its pioneers be known the way Braque and Picasso are
known for collage?)
But that's not why I'm writing. As I was surfing the topic, I found
your report on the ISABA site about the vandalized-books exhibit at the SF
library in 2004. I was gratified to know that artists all over the
place would treat books about people like me (who have sometimes been
mistreated as these books were mistreated) with such tender care and
dignity. I felt the love extending to me, which was the same feeling I had
many years ago when I viewed a portion of the NAMES quilt...
I was 2000 miles away from SF in 2004 and had never heard of this
exhibit. Thank you for documenting it so that I could find out about it and
find inspiration from it so long after the fact.
And thank you for reminding me that it is my responsibility as an
evolving person--and, in particular, artist--to myself be more open to
difference and otherness and to seeing beauty in rubble, which has been my
great lesson as a collagist.
